Kinneff Old Church Preservation Trust

During the late 1970s concern was expressed that the Old Church, no longer in use for regular worship, would decay beyond repair. The Trust was therefore formed to ensure its continued maintenance and preservation for the benefit of the Nation. With the assistance of generous donations, both individual and from national bodies the building was renovated during 1979/80. More fund raising and grants from Historic Scotland enabled the Trustees to renovate the wall memorials in 1987/88 and these are well worth a close examination.

Funds are still urgently required to meet the ongoing upkeep and a local bequest in 2006 enabled the Trustees to redecorate and rewire the Church. A fundraising exercise in 2012 enabled the Trustees to renovate the south facing windows which were in great danger of falling out and attention is now being directed to the removal of the crumbling unsafe harling and reconstitution of the walls.
